Darmin: Because Prices have not yet Decreased, RI Imports More Than 30,000 Tons of Corn

Buletin Digital. The government imports 30,000 tons of corn again for animal feed needs. According to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution imports are needed because of the price of corn.
"There is still a vacuum and prices have not dropped so that the laymen are still in trouble," Darmin said at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta, Wednesday.

The former Director General of Taxes also said, 30,000 tons of new animal feed corn began to be executed in February this year, or after the quota of 100,000 tons in 2018 was completed in January 2019.
"So there are 30,000 tons that will expire in late February," Darmin said

In addition, Darmin revealed that the import of 30,000 tons of animal feed corn to fill the needs until harvest time in April 2019.
"Corn harvest in March-April still has a vacuum and prices have not dropped so that the layman is still in trouble," Darmin said.
